Radioligand binding assays
Radioligand binding is a method to have information on the nature of the drug-receptor interaction.
• Saturation analysis: analysis performed to detect receptor density in a studied specimen (Bmax) and the affinity showed by a specific radioligand (kD) towards the studied receptor.
• Kinetic experiments: analysis performed to evaluatet the association rate (kon) and the dissociation rate (koff) of the complex ligand-receptor.
• Competition analysis: analysis performed to investigate about the receptor affinity of a studied compound (IC50, Ki).using different receptors (es. dopaminergic, serotoninergic, adrenergic, sigma, EBP, serotonine and norepinefrine transporters, etc. ) isolated from cell lines and/or tissues.
